Welcome. I am a straightforward, warm, and compassionate therapist, with a steadfast commitment to every person’s potential for growth. I provide a safe, empathetic, and honest space to help my clients understand, and work through often-painful feelings and experiences.
Therapy can be a life enhancing opportunity to reflect on feelings, to talk about mental distress, and explore and name problematic thoughts and behaviours with support, and without judgement.
Psychotherapy with Leigh
I am a trained integrative therapist working with adults (18+) to understand their problems through an exploration of past and current experiences and significant relationships. This takes place inside a collaboratively created therapeutic space where you are heard and understood, and most importantly where you experience connection. In doing so, unhelpful and destructive thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can be fully understood and released, creating space for meaningful change.
Many clients I work with seek therapy because they feel depressed, stuck, lost, and anxious. Many want to improve their relationships, address trauma, and make sense of their internal world. Some clients need a place to grieve and be with complicated feelings of loss.
Background and qualifications
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked for a decade in the music industry to promote musicians. After completing an MA in Human Rights, I then worked in senior Communications roles for international development and environmental NGOs with a special interest in garment workers’ rights and fashion supply chains.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling, accredited by the BACP. In addition to private practice, I worked for two years in a charity / local authority setting with adult carers in urgent need of therapeutic support.
