Bereavement, Grief & Loss

Coping with the waves of emotion, the strong feelings of sadness, fear or anger, that follow the death of a loved one or other losses can be among the most overwhelming things we face. Paradoxically, loss (particularly sudden or traumatic loss) can result in a feeling of numbness and an accompanying sense of shame that we aren’t grieving enough or in the right way.

How therapy can help with bereavement and grief?

Bereavement counselling is designed to offer a calm and compassionate place to talk about your loss and get support to understand the stages and shape of your grief.

Often death can act as a catalyst – bringing many things about our life into focus all at once. Knowing you have a regular space to explore how your loss has impacted you can help relieve the build up of emotional pressure.
