Therapy with me is a place to talk freely, deepen your self-understanding, and explore what you truly want and need, in a compassionate, confidential space.
I will be alongside you. I work with you as a whole person, recognising all the experiences that have shaped you.
As we talk, I will offer insight, suggestions, reflect patterns and perhaps challenge in order to support that deeper understanding of yourself and how you can create a life in which you truly flourish.
Together, we will create the space you need in order to create the change you want.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the creative industries for many years – and both creativity and lived experience of major change inform my practice.
Therapy with Harriet
How I Work
Therapy with me is a collaboration and a conversation.
Therapy is not about ‘fixing’ you – you are not broken. But you might feel broken, or lost. You may be experiencing grief or major change. You may be at a crossroads in your life. You may be searching for something different in your one wild and precious life. You may feel unworthy of love, support and care.
Our work will support your insight into yourself. My invitation is to explore further, go deeper and in doing so, increase your awareness of yourself and your patterns. We will walk together into the unknown.
Through becoming more aware of patterns or coping mechanisms that no longer serve – and facing what is underneath – we can move into agency and choice.
I believe deeply that everyone has the capacity to change – with willingness, courage, faith and support.
Living fully as a human is wonderful and hard. Therapy can be challenging, it may take work. There is also room for joy, celebration and humour – yes humour! – in the therapy room.
The pace is yours to set and there is no ‘right way’.
I will meet you with sincerity, respect and grace in our sessions together.
A Creative Approach
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the creative industries for many years.
Becoming a therapist is a natural continuation of my care for people, stories and connection.
Talking is the basis of most of our sessions – and I may also bring in creative expression, body focussed work and experiments to support our work. This work is intentional and powerful – sometimes profound wisdom is found by coming out of words and into a different knowing.
Drawing on our natural creativity can support the deep work that can happen in therapy.
Areas of particular interest and experience
My primary focus is to work with you to discover how you can live your most abundant and satisfying life.
That being said, sometimes there are specific life experiences that bring us to therapy – I work often with major change and transition – either chosen or inflicted. This could include grief, loss, loneliness and feeling stuck or trapped. These experiences can often come loaded with anxiety, low self-esteem, burn-out, over-thinking, addiction or anger. You might be experiencing shame, difficultly relating to people or loneliness. You may have become so small you can’t find yourself.
You can bring all this and more.
Qualifications
I trained at HOMA London, on the four-year experiential training programme.
During my training I worked at Creators House, working with young Creatives without the financial means to access therapy and Feelings Matter in Hackney, providing low cost therapy for those who need it.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and abide by their ethical framework.
Fees and Contact
My fee is £80, sessions are 50 minutes.
I offer some low cost sessions for those who need it. Please mention that when you contact me.
We will usually meet on a weekly basis, in open ended therapy.
If a different cadence would support you better, I’m happy to discuss.
