As an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor working with couples and individuals, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for individuals to process their thoughts, deal with life’s challenges and express their emotions, with the goal of positive change.

I work with people wishing to better understand repeat patterns in their relationships and facilitate those in relationships, whether they want to improve or face the end of their relationships.

A better understanding of each other is the key to resolving conflict and improving the relationship as a whole, and I help people to achieve that.

Psychotherapy with Alice

Psychotherapeutic Counselling helps to bring about positive change by identifying the tensions and negative thought patterns holding you back, as well as identifying any unhelpful ways of relating to oneself, others and the rest of the world.

Together, we look at how these issues are creating challenges and pain in your daily life.  By building a secure, confidential and trusting relationship between us, we create a safe place for you to deal with these difficulties. We will expand your insight and create effective coping strategies.

The goals of our work are decided upon in a collaborative manner during our initial session. We work specifically with challenges associated with you reaching those goals.

How sessions work

Sessions are usually once a week for 50 minutes for individuals and 75 minutes for couples or groups.  I offer sessions face to face at our central London practice, in Kings Cross, or Online via zoom.

We can have an initial free 15-minute phone call to discuss the issues and decide whether we would like to work together. We will work at your pace, as dictated by your needs. I encourage a collaborative process.

Together, we work to process difficult or painful thoughts and feelings and focus on your untapped potential. Through this process, you will identify and draw on your inner resources to live a fuller, more satisfying life.

I understand it can be nerve racking to embark upon counselling or therapy – it takes courage to start.  I work ethically at your pace and believe that all relationships are built on mutual respect. My approach is tailored to the individual clients; couples, groups and individuals from all backgrounds and I affirm cultural and identity diversity.

Areas of particular interest and experience

I specialise in helping people see how they can better relate to themselves, other people (in their relationships) and holistically, to the rest of the world.

I have combined my experience of working in the Film & TV industry, across a wide range of diverse media productions, with my work as a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor to offer mental health support in the creative industries, as well as private counselling for individuals and couples who needs it.

Having worked in the creative sector. I understand the industry pitfalls, the unique highs and lows, that working in these uncertain ‘gig economies’ can create, for instance:

  • financial stress
  • psychological exhaustion
  • insecure working environments
  • communication problems
  • dealing with nepotism and narcissistic personality types
  • bullying
  • substance abuse
  • relationship difficulties
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • panic attacks
  • loss
  • grief
  • workaholism
  • imposter syndrome
  • self-esteem issues

In addition, I have experience working in the charity sector with infertility, miscarriage, trauma and bereavement at Citypregnancy.org.uk  and have undergone extensive male suicide training with HiSCharity.org.uk and starttheconversation.uk.
