Psychotherapy Training at Homa
Applications are now open to start training in 2025. Homa’s Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling is an innovative and highly experiential programme. The unique four-year course starts with a foundation year. We have designed the first year to accelerate your self-development. In other words, it will take you to the edges of yourself and beyond. The next three years are equally rich and deeply practical.
We have designed a training programme aimed at developing your therapeutic skills through the practical application of humanistic theories. When you qualify, you will enter the profession with everything you need to set up a thriving practice. In addition, you will continue to be part of a supportive community of peers. The training may end after four years, however, Homa graduates can choose to stay connected with their peers through our Post-graduate Programme. You will continue to develop your skills and deepen your relationships.
We cannot be fully human, living meaningful, empowered lives, without being connected to ourselves, to each other and to the natural world. At Homa, self-awareness, embodiment, diversity and eco-therapy are fundamental aspects of the training programme. Above all, the training is rooted in traditional theories of humanistic psychotherapy.
Walk the walk with us and grow into the psychotherapist you want to be.
Take the first step
Take your first step in applying to Homa by attending an Introductory Workshop. In addition you will find out all about our Humanistic Psychotherapy Training Programme. You will meet the programme leaders and some of your future colleagues. What’s more, by participating in the introductory workshop, you will find out first hand what it would be like to train at Homa.
Testimonials
In the words of our trainees…
“I have found the first year of the HOMA training to be an extraordinary experience. The training is experiential rather than academic, but nevertheless has a rigorous theoretical underpinning and is exceptionally carefully structured and taught. The learning in the foundation year is challenging, but the tutors create a held (and healing) space in which that learning can take place. Their commitment to equality, diversity and to the self-realisation of each trainee is absolute, and is woven through everything that we do. HOMA is perpetually surprising, uniquely enriching, and altogether an inspiring and beautiful thing to be part of. Joining the course is the best rash decision that I ever made.”
