hello@embodylife.uk
Many of us live from the neck up. Over time, that can leave us tense, wired, or strangely disconnected from ourselves.
Helping you reconnect with your body is at the heart of what I do. Through somatic work, your system can release held tension and find its own balance again. What tends to return is a sense of ease, of being at home in yourself.
Sessions are steady and unhurried. We pay attention to what feels safe and manageable. The focus is on supporting your body’s capacity to regulate, settle, and find its way back.
Working with Gianluca
Much of what happens when we work together is about slowing down enough to notice what’s happening in your body. Together we find a pace that feels manageable: not pushing, not avoiding, but staying curious about what’s present. Sessions follow what you bring. There’s no fixed agenda, and nothing is forced.
Many people come to somatic therapy with a sense that something remains unresolved, held somewhere in the body rather than the mind. Working with the body can reach what talking alone sometimes cannot.
My primary approach is TRE™ (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises), a body-based method that works directly with the nervous system to release held tension and resolve stored stress responses. Alongside this, I’m currently training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST), which brings a quieter, more receptive quality to our sessions. My ongoing training in humanistic psychotherapy informs how we meet each other in the room.
Underpinning everything is an understanding of the nervous system: how it responds to stress and threat, how it becomes dysregulated, and how it finds its way back.
Somatic therapy doesn’t mean bypassing the mind. Thinking, meaning-making, and talking all have their place. The aim is integration: a fuller, more settled sense of who you are.
I also run group somatic workshops in London for those drawn to exploring this work in community. Find out more at EmbodyLife.UK.

Areas of Interest and Expertise
Trauma and nervous system dysregulation are a particular focus. Many people arrive having tried talking therapies that helped intellectually but left something unresolved somatically. Polyvagal theory helps make sense of this gap: the nervous system responds to safety, not understanding. Body-based approaches can reach what conversation alone sometimes cannot, particularly for those who are analytically minded.
Chronic pain is another area of interest. Modern pain science has fundamentally changed how we understand persistent pain. Somatic approaches offer something genuinely complementary: supporting the nervous system rather than working against the body.
I also work with non-ordinary states of consciousness, including those induced by psychedelics. These experiences can change you. Somatic therapy gives you the solid ground to move through them and integrate what came up.
Qualifications
I’m a Certified TRE™ Provider and I’m currently training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) at Body College. Additional training in pain science with the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute informs how I work with chronic tension and persistent pain.
I’m currently in my third year of a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Homa, a programme integrating Gestalt and Person-Centred approaches with embodiment and relational practice. My training also includes a foundation course in Internal Family Systems (IFS) with the IFS Institute.
My transpersonal and psychedelic training includes a Diploma in Transpersonal Psychology with the British Transpersonal Association (ongoing) and a Psychedelic Practitioner Core Training with the Synthesis Institute, both grounded in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and integration practice.
Fees
I’m committed to making this work accessible and offer sessions at flexible rates. We can discuss what feels sustainable and fair as part of our first meeting.
