Counsellor and Coach

Hello! I’m an integrative counsellor and coach and I offer a safe, open-minded and confidential space for you to reflect on what’s happening and what’s happened, find clarity in uncertain times, and figure out what things might look like moving forward. Whether you’re hoping to make sense of your life, keen to make changes or simply looking for a place to be heard and understood, I’ll meet you with warmth, compassion, curiosity, and an attitude free of judgement.

Counselling with Peter

When we work together you’ll have the space and freedom to talk openly about what’s going on in your life and what’s on your mind. I hope that space we create together — whether it’s in person or online — is one in which you’ll feel supported, heard, and understood. Together we can explore your world and navigate a path through and out of wherever you find yourself.

I believe a strong collaborative relationship is at the heart of good counselling work. With that in mind my goal is to create, with you, a flexible and comfortable therapeutic space in which your preferences for therapy are acknowledged and built into our work together.

I work integratively so I can draw on (and have been trained in) a range of therapeutic modalities. These include person-centred, psychodynamic and existential therapies, along with CBT and acceptance and commitment therapy. As well as giving me the ability to work with different models of counselling and psychotherapy, my training in a therapeutic framework called Personal Consultancy also means I can, where appropriate, integrate coaching into work with you. Not everyone wants or needs this, but it does mean that in addition to being able to work with you on exploring your past and your present, I can also help you look at what comes next.

The first step after you make contact will be to set up a short phone or Zoom call where you can tell me a little about what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from it, along with any preferences you have for our work together. It’s also an opportunity for me to find out more about what’s happening in your world, but just as importantly it’s a chance for you to find out if you think we’re a good fit. If you think we are, and you’d like to then book a first session, we can take it from there.

I work with adults (18+) and offer both time-limited therapy (where we might agree to work together for a set number of sessions) and more open-ended work which can continue until you feel you’re ready to stop.

Musicians and creatives

With a background in media and music, I’m attuned to many of the issues that can come up in those areas, and I take a special interest in working with musicians as well as people in creative industries like TV, advertising, theatre and radio.

I’m a member of the Music Industry Therapist Collective (MITC), and have taken part in Help Musicians’ Co-Pilot mentoring scheme for the last two years.
