I am a humanistic integrative psychotherapist working with clients on a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, self esteem, critical & intrusive thoughts, relationship and existential issues.

I offer a safe  and confidential space  where you can discuss whatever brings you, express difficult thoughts and feelings, and talk and be heard in a way that can facilitate change. I can support you to come to terms with who you are and what’s happened in your life, so you can become who you want to be.

How I work

We are all different and as an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a range of approaches which I adjust depending on your needs. My model uses ideas from humanistic, psychodynamic and relational theory. I also work with dreams to explore unconscious processes and help understand current patterns and behaviours.

Integrative therapy is also about personal integration – that is, becoming aware of, coming to terms with and integrating different parts of ourselves and our experiences so we can feel more whole, both in mind and body. This can be an empowering process that liberates us from limiting thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and frees us to make choices.

I believe that the development of a trusting relationship between client and therapist is central to therapeutic work and I offer a safe, non judgemental space for you to work with me.

I will work collaboratively with you which means we will often use what happens in the therapy room to explore the issues you are struggling with in your own life. I may challenge you compassionately at times but will work at a pace which you can manage. Together we can look at the problematic ways of thinking about yourself and others which may have contributed to your difficulties. While therapy cannot change the past, the process of sharing your thoughts can enable you take on different perspectives, helping you to explore a greater range of possibilities with which to move forward

Prior to becoming a BACP registered therapist, I worked as a costume designer for Film, Opera and Ballet. I saw from a first-hand perspective the complexities and difficulties of working as a creative in a fast-paced environment, and how pressure and relationships can place a strain on mental health. Seeing these complexities of the human condition up close made me realise I wanted to go down a more meaningful career path, and as such I trained to become a therapist, as this gave me the opportunity to provide support for others that transforms how they feel about themselves and behave.
